Pomerita Punch

Serves 10

This antioxidant rich, pitcher-perfect drink is fortified with tequila, or mezcal for added smokiness and sweetened naturally with fresh pomegranate juice and a touch of honey. 


½ cup honey syrup

½ cup lemon juice

3 cups (1 bottle) tequila or mezcal

1 cup pomegranate juice

crushed jalapeno slices or use a spicy tequila such as Ghost (optional) 


Mix the honey syrup (1:1, honey: water) with the lemon juice thoroughly, then combine all the ingredients except the garnishes in a punch bowl with ice and garnish with fresh pomegranate and citrus slices.


PRO TIP: If you'd like to low proof this recipe without compromising the integrity and balance of the drink, try cutting the high proof tequila with a manzanilla sherry or dry vermouth in equal measures.
